About Me

Welcome! I’m Dr. Katelyn Cooper and I am glad you’re here.

My therapeutic approach is warm, authentic, and person-centered, meaning I will meet you where you are at. I will show up to sessions as a therapist and a human, so if you value genuine connections I think I would be a great fit for you. Using humanistic and relational based approaches, we will work together to better understand yourself and your difficulties. I work with individuals and relationships to recognize and understand patterns in order to replace them so you can better achieve your goals.

When I’m not working, I love to be outside hiking, boating, or going for long walks. I also love a lazy day inside with my cats and partner filled with movies, reading, or video games.

Training

My clinical training included providing individual, couples and group therapy in university counseling centers and private practice settings. In addition, I have experience in providing psychological assessments. Much of my clinical experience and current focus is in providing therapy to adults, college students, and couples/romantic relationships. I provide therapy for individuals with depression, relationship problems, anxiety, trauma, sexual concerns, and low sense of self in addition to other presentations. I am trained in EFT, CBT, DBT, and EMDR.

I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Indianapolis, and completed my APA accredited doctoral internship at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
